Back in 2021 during PAX Online, I caught a Jamaican Game Developer panel featuring Graham Reid (aka @GrahamOfLegend) and a few other Jamaican game developers. I reached out to Graham because the look of his game, Super Space Club, truly blew me away.
It took almost two years of myself and Graham checking in with each other (via email) to set a time to chat about Super Space Club — I also wanted to wait until I had played a demo and we were closer to the release date. Back in May, I had the chance to sit down and have a chat with Graham about the development cycle of Super Space Club, his history as a game developer/artist, and so much more.
Super Space Club was released last week on PC and Xbox.
“Super Space Club is a colorful endless arcade gunner set to the backdrop of chill, lo-fi music.
As a club of skilled misfit pilots, defend the galaxy by taking on galactic forces and completing
a series of thrilling missions. In space, everyone can hear you groove.”
Super Space Club features certain traits from the games that Graham was inspired by (Asteroids, Pixel Junk Shooter). Once you play the game it feels very much like it’s own, new thing. The controls are super tight with dynamic physics, the music is great to chill and vibe to, and I can’t get enough of the art-style of this game.

Thank you to Graham Reid (@GrahamOfLegend) for giving me some time to talk about Super Space Club.
